game: Fable 2
news | 08/08/07 | Chris Martin
Some incorporate, others innovate. Peter Molyneux is the kind of developer that makes you want to give him a big hug. He\'s the kind of developer that is not satisfied with the way games are and
insists that he innovate. He is the kind of man who gets an idea and runs with it. Recently, Peter Molyneux, in an interview and combat demonstration with
Kikizo, had a lot to say about the state of combat in video games, and a lot to say about how Fable 2 would change it all,
forever.
game: DEFCON
review | 10/04/06 | Chris Galbraith
Introversion scored big with Darwinia, a game well-known for its unorthodox graphics and approach. Now, the indy developers from Britain have released the next big thing: Defcon. Defcon puts players in control of a huge nuclear arsenal to duke out doomsday using an interface that looks straight out of the classic game/nuke movie, War Games. Would you like to play a game? game: Duke Nukem Forever
news | 06/10/06 | Aaron Stanton
Take Two Interactive renegotiated their contract with 3D Realms back in March, pulling two million dollars from the project at the same time as offering a $500,000 bonus if 3D Realms delivers by the end of the year. The $500,000 bonus is only paid if Duke Nukem Forever ships by December 31st, 2006. What does this mean for Duke Nukem? Well, it might get the title out the door. On the other hand, cutting money from the budget and then leaning on the developer to finish faster isn\'t exactly a formula for a quality game. A bonus might sound like a good idea, unless it leads to rushed development with lower standards.
game: Nintendo Wii
news | 04/27/06 | Aaron Stanton
According to Nintendo.com, which was partially off-line for part of the morning, Nintendo has kissed the Nintendo Revolution name goodbye. Say hello to the Nintendo Wii, the new and final name for Nintendo\'s next home console. We here at GamesFirst did a double take for each of the two ii\'s, and even have one editor still convinced that the Nintendo site has just been hacked and that this will be cleared up by the afternoon. However, after the website came back up with all the appropriate links in place, it looks like this is official. The Nintendo Wii is here to stay, and the Nintendo Revolution is gone forever. All shall bow before the Wii.

Cyan Worlds, makers of Myst, laid off their entire development crew earlier this month and shut their doors for what the gaming industry assumed was forever. Turns out that\'s not the case. Ryan Miller, co-founder of Cyan Worlds, has confirmed to GamesFirst that the company has rehired some portion of their development team. \"Yes, we have rehired most everyone,\" he said. \"At this point, I can\'t really say more.\" Earlier, MercuryNews.com received similar confirmation from Cyan Worlds. Is it possible the game industry has not really lost one of its original pioneers? Sounds like it.

Funny that we\'d choose the Sunday before the 4th of July to take a bit more of a political slant on a gaming comic, but sometimes ideas come, and after a bit of thought I realized that there could be no better time to print a politically-tinged game cartoon than during the celebration of our country, of freedom, and of the ideals that make America great. Plus, it gives us an opportunity to make an old joke about
Duke Nukem Forever, wherever it may be. This week\'s twoplayer game comic is called,
Next Year. Swear to God.Twoplayer comic is published every Sunday at

game: E3 2005: Prey Press Demonstration
preview | 05/19/05 | Chris Martin
3d Realms seems to have been under the radar for a while. Duke Nukem Forever might be just a pipe-dream, but let me assure you 3d Realms' new title "Prey" is very much a reality. One of the real jems on the E3 floor, it blew our freakin' socks off - way beyond what we've seen in sample videos before! Impressions and screens inside.

Gamers praise developers for the increasing visual authenticity found in video games. What happens when troubled individuals find too much authenticity in the games they play and take it to an extreme? How much responsibility should the gaming industry shoulder? Should it even be held to any amount of culpability?

Sierra and Vivendi Universal bring us a the followup to the hit spy shooter of 2000, No One Lives Forever. No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in HARM\'s Way brings the same great story, thrilling gameplay, and high quality sound and visuals to the PC in a whole new adventure featuring the lovely Cate Archer.
game: No One Lives Forever
review | 07/03/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Sierra brings its classic FPS franchise to the PS2, and all we can say is that Cate deserved better. No One Lives Forever is a disappointing console port, right along the lines of Half Life for the PS2. You can\'t beat the story and some of the gameplay in NOLF, but it is severely flawed. Click here.

Obviously, the internet capabilities of the Dreamcastcombined with its superior processor apparatusgive it an edge far sharper than any system to break in the last forever many years. You thought, perhaps, that you had maximized the possibilities of your couch when you finally found the Dukes of Hazzard TV tray you had been looking for the last ten years, or installed the Molson-stocked mini-fridge next to your remote control caddy. But now, Sega has introduced the possibility of leisurely strolling through the internet from that selfsame couch, not to mention given you the option to play console games on-line with friends who are similarly devoted to their domestic sitting arrangements.
